Looking for bright spots after back-to-back late-game fumbles costing the Arkansas Razorbacks a pair of road losses at Ole Miss and Saturday at Memphis isn’t easy. Rohan Jones provided it however with a pair of touchdowns — one through the air and one on the ground — and a career-high 102 yards receiving in a 32-31 loss at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium against the Memphis Tigers. The performance earns the former FCS All-American the Week-Four Razorbacker of the Week nod.

The transfer senior from Montana State caught a 62-yard reception for Razorback quarterback Taylen Green on the team’s opening drive. He also hauled in a 40-yard reception from Green and tacked on a rushing touchdown from four yards out on a tight-end-around play in the second quarter to put Arkansas up 21-10.

On the season, Jones has averaged just shy of 40 yards per catch (39.2) on five receptions for 197 yards and two receiving touchdowns. The other touchdown came in Arkansas’ from 41 yards out in a Week Two victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium.

The only game Jones hasn’t recorded any stats was in the team’s season-opening win over Alabama A&M at Donald Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Jones’ performance against Memphis marked the first time an Arkansas tight end eclipsed the 100 yard receiving mark in a game since 2023.

His rushing touchdown on Saturday was the program’s first for a tight end since Austin Cantrel in 2017.  At the time, Jones’ 74 receiving yards were the third-most by a tight end under current head coach Sam Pittman according to the team’s website. The site also credits Jones’ then 37-yard-per-reception average as the most by an Arkansas tight end since 1997.
