Coming off a close loss to the then No. 3 and now No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide 21-3 (10-1 SEC), the Arkansas Razorbacks 15-9 (4-7 SEC), arguably the most improved team in the nation — certainly not a team SEC coaches are looking forward to playing right now — returned to Bud Walton Arena to face the LSU Tigers 12-12 (1-10 SEC). Although LSU has an awful record with only one SEC victory, that victory was against the Razorbacks in Baton Rouge. Therefore, the Hogs were looking for revenge.

In the first half, Arkansas did not play the sound defense the team should have against a team of LSU's caliber, especially in Bud Walton Arena. The Razorbacks' lack of defensive focus led them to a one-point deficit going into halftime, 35-34. However, in the second half, Arkansas was more focused defensively, holding the Tigers to only 23 points. According to ESPN, Arkansas held LSU to 39.1% shooting from the field, which will not allow an SEC team to win many games with such a poor shooting performance.

Arkansas defeated LSU in Bud Walton Arena 70-58. After such a strong performance and win, fans expressed how pleased they were with the Arkansas Razorbacks for beating the LSU Tigers.
