One of the most iconic voices in basketball thinks the Razorbacks will go far in the NCAA Tournament. Dick Vitale posted his preseason Sweet Sixteen teams, with Arkansas basketball coming in at No. 13.

Even with a Hall of Fame coach like John Calipari leading the Razorbacks, it's hard to fathom anyone believing Arkansas would make an NCAA tournament — let alone a Sweet Sixteen — after the program's implosion when Eric Musselman left.

However, with the roster Coach Calipari has put together, the Hogs have people believing they can compete this season. Bringing players and recruits over like Billy Richmond III and Adou Thiero was a necessary foundation for his first Arkansas team. But grabbing elite transfers like Jonas Aidoo and Johnell Davis might be why Vitale thinks the Hogs can go that far.

Arkansas is behind two other SEC teams and is one of five on the list. Here are Dick Vitale's preseason Sweet Sixteen teams:

  1. Kansas
  2. Alabama
  3. UCONN
  4. Houston
  5. Iowa State
  6. North Carolina
  7. Baylor
  8. Gonzaga
  9. Duke
  10. Auburn
  11. Purdue
  12. Arizona
  13. Arkansas
  14. Texas A&M
  15. Kentucky
  16. St. John's
