Arkansas LHP Parker Coil announced Monday evening that he will be returning for his senior year for the Razorbacks. He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 16th round as the No. 485 overall pick on July 14 in the 2025 MLB Draft, but will stay with the Hogs for his final season of eligibility.

LHP Parker Coil to return to Arkansas

Coil had an outstanding year on the mound for Arkansas as one of the most improved players from last season. The Edmond, Okla. native posted a 3-0 record in 14 relief appearances with an ERA of 1.27 across 21.1 innings with 24 strikeouts, despite being out for seven weeks with a back injury during the middle of the season.

One of Coil’s biggest moments of the season came on March 2 when he tossed an immaculate ending against Portland in the series finale in Baum-Walker Stadium. The southpaw carved up Thad Ector and Chandler Riley looking and made Dawson Bryce go down swinging on three pitches each in the 4-3 walkoff victory.

Coil is going to add a lot of veteran experience to the Razorback bullpen going into 2026. The Hogs will be in need of left-handed pitchers going into the off-season with starters Zach Root and Landon Beidelschies being picked up in the draft. RHP Gabe Gaeckle is the lone returning starting pitcher, who flipped around from starting on the bump to coming out of the pen in relief. LHP Colin Fisher and RHP Tate McGuire started some midweek games in 2025, but were primarily relievers during the year.
