Although then No. 22 and now No. 17 Arkansas baseball (32-17, 13-11 SEC) was defeated convincingly in Game 2 by the then No. 17 and now No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels (32-17, 12-12 SEC) in Baum-Walker Stadium, losing 11-4, after winning a dominant run-rule victory in Game 1, the Razorbacks did not allow a poor performance in Game 2 to reduce their confidence about winning Game 3. Such confidence ultimately propelled the Hogs to a 5-4 Game 3 victory and a series win.

Although Christian Turner's walk-off two-run homer in Game 3 on Saturday in Fayetteville has received all the fanfare, it would not have been possible without Kuhio Aloy. Heading into the top of the sixth inning, the Razorbacks were trailing the Rebels 3-2. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Aloy hit a massive home run over the fence that bounced on the ground in front of a food truck selling barbecue sandwiches and into its window.

Aloy's homer provided the energy to fuel what Nolan Souza and Christian Turner accomplished in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game and series for the Hogs. In four at-bats in Game 3, he had two hits, one a homer, scored one run, and drove in two runs.

Beginning with the Razorbacks' midweek win over Northwestern State to the conclusion of Game 3 of the weekend series, Aloy led Arkansas baseball with a .600 batting average, .625 on-base percentage, and 1.267 slugging percentage, including nine hits, three of which were home runs, and seven RBIs. He hit a homer in each game of the series against Ole Miss, which is unquestionably impressive. Given such an outstanding performance last week, Aloy was named the SEC Player of the Week.

As the Razorbacks prepare for another challenging three-game weekend SEC series against the No. 24 Oklahoma Sooners (30-16, 12-12 SEC) at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville on Friday at 6:00 p.m. CT, Dave Van Horn wishes for Kuhio Aloy to continue delivering excellent hitting. Arkansas baseball is a dangerous opponent for any team when Aloy is generating that kind of power at the plate. Fans can watch Game 1 of the series on the SEC Network+ (SECN+).
