The Irish may be in Fayetteville, but they aren’t sharing any of their luck. Arkansas wide receiver Jalen Brown was carted off the field after suffering a lower-leg injury in the first half.

Jalen Brown leaves Notre Dame with scary leg injury

The sequence unfolded just after the Razorbacks’ defense secured its first stop of the game. Arkansas marched downfield but stalled near the red zone. On third-and-9, Taylen Green targeted Brown for what could have been the Hogs’ second touchdown, only for Notre Dame’s secondary to break up the pass at the last moment.

Brown landed awkwardly, his leg buckling beneath him as he writhed in pain. The cart was summoned immediately, and his teammates surrounded him before he was taken off the field. According to sideline reporter Taylor McGregor, Brown was transported to a nearby hospital. Arkansas went for it on fourth down following the injury, but failed to convert.

It’s only Week 5, but this marks the second time a Razorback has been carted off this season. Defensive back Kani Walker was taken to the hospital with a head injury against Ole Miss, though that was out of precaution.

Brown’s night ends with one catch for 11 yards. Through five games, he’s tallied 11 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns.
