At what point is enough going to be enough for Arkansas football and Sam Pittman? On Saturday, the Razorbacks are hosting Notre Dame for what should be one of the biggest and best home games of 2025 for the program. Instead of putting up a fight, Arkansas got dominated in the first half.
Bobby Petrino as interim Arkansas HC? He's reportedly vying for the position
As of this writing, Notre Dame is up 42-13, with a complete and total blowout being posted. The Arkansas defense can't do anything to slow down the Irish, with CJ Carr and Jeremiyah Love looking incredible. The people in the stands have seen enough, with 'Fire Pittman' chants breaking out among the fanbase. People are ripping Pittman on social media too, which shouldn't be a surprise:

A brief "Fire Pittman!" chant started building up, but was quickly drowned out by "Let's go Irish!" cheers from the visiting section.
Arkansas fans are calling for Sam Pittman to be fired after rough start vs. Notre Dame
Pittman took over at Arkansas in 2020 and he has three bowl wins to his name since. However, entering the Week 5 action, he holds a record of 32-33 overall. The Razorbacks simply haven't lived up to the hype under his direction, with the 4-8 mark in 2023 being unacceptable.
Arkansas went 7-6 last year, with a win in the Liberty Bowl. However, they're about to fall to 2-3 unless some sort of a miracle is posted against the Irish. It's one thing to lose to a ranked team, but to not show up much of a fight in front of the home crowd is a major disappointment. What's going on with this team?
Pittman doesn't seem to have any positive answers for how this program can turn things around in the near future. The Razorbacks are going to be on a bye next week before heading to Knoxville on Oct. 11 to face Joey Aguilar and the Tennessee Vols.
Leading up to that matchup, there isn't going to be much confidence among Arkansas supporters that an upset win at Neyland Stadium is going to be posted. That's on Pittman, as he's responsible for how this team performs. The display against Notre Dame has been a massive letdown, plain and simple.
