The Arkansas Razorbacks 15-10 (4-8 SEC) started the game against the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies 20-5 (9-3 SEC) with the necessary competitive fire to upset them in Reed Arena. Arkansas started the game with an 8-0 lead. However, after a timeout, the Aggies cut that deficit, and the Hogs never regained that intensity.

After that 8-0 lead, the Razorbacks started playing sloppy and undisciplined, which are not typical characteristics of a team John Calipari coaches. Such sloppy and undisciplined play by the Hogs resulted in them facing a five-point deficit at halftime, 33-28. While the Hogs had some moments in the second half that they played relatively well, they primarily continued the sloppy and undisciplined performance that ultimately led them to a 69-61 loss in Reed Arena.

ESPN noted that the Hogs had 17 turnovers. When a team hopes to win an SEC game, it cannot have 17 turnovers. Moving forward, Arkansas must value the basketball more, make shots at the rim, and move the ball fluidly, which were critical ingredients to their upset victory against Kentucky in Rupp Arena. Unfortunately, the Hogs did not bring these ingredients with them to Reed Arena. After the Arkansas Razorbacks were unable to pull off the upset against the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies, fans and media shared mixed reactions on social media.
