Before his collar bone injury against Texas A&M last year, Luke Hasz was having a season as good as any freshman in the nation. It looked like he was bound to be one of the best freshman in the country. He, instead, sat the rest of the season, watching Arkansas play itself into a 4-8 season. Now, he's healed, a year older, and ready to make a comeback.

The College Sports Communicator, in association with The Associated Press and the Fiesta Bowl Organization, released a watch list for the 2024 Comeback Play of the Year. Hasz was the lone Razorback to make the list.

Last season, Hasz played a massive role in keeping Arkansas in its 34-31 loss to LSU. He caught six passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns against the Tigers. Before that, the true freshman caught four balls for 78 yards and another score against BYU. When his season ended in week five, he had already accumulated 253 yards on 16 grabs for 15.8 yards a reception and three touchdowns.

The bulk of his production came in only two games. However, Kent State and Western Carolina were both cupcakes, so KJ Jefferson was generous with the ball distribution. And against Texas A&M, Hasz was hurt on his one reception early in the game and still gained 14 yards.

Of all the players on the watch list, Hasz has to be one of the favorites to win the award. If BYU and LSU were any indication of how he'll play this year, he could be a top-5 tight end in the country.
