Landon Jackson's return to Arkansas was a big deal. He's arguably the best player on the team and has already earned preseason All-American and All-SEC honors; now, the list of accolades is getting bigger.

On Monday, the star defensive end was named to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List. The award is presented to the best defensive player in college football. Some winners of the prestigious honor include Will Anderson Jr, Jordan Davis, Aaron Donald, Tyrann Mathieu, Ndamukong Suh, and more going back to 1995.

Jackson led the defensive line in tackles with 44, including 22 solo, and he led the team with 6.5 sacks. The best performance of his career came against Alabama, where he had 11 total stops, seven solo, and 3.5 sacks. By itself, those seven solo tackles were more than any of his single-game totals from last season.

The semifinalists will be announced on November 12, and the finalists will be named on November 26. You can watch who wins by tuning into the ESPN Home Depot College Football Award Show on December 12.
