Host of former Hogs have been contacted, signed as free agents
After waiting nearly six entire rounds, a Hog was finally picked in the 2024 NFL draft. The Jaguars drafted Cam Little on the 212th pick, and Beaux Limmer was selected a few picks later. Unfortunately, that was all she wrote on the matter as the seventh round finished without another Arkansas player named.
However, it didn't take long for teams to contact the now former Razorback free agents. Dwight McGlothern's name was the first to be thrown out. Within hours of the draft's conclusion, McGlorthern was signed by the Minnesota Vikings and became the first hog to sign as a free agent. It's not surprising as he was ranked high enough after the NFL Combine to be drafted, and some had him as a top 200 prospect in the draft. Nevertheless, the quickness in which the Vikings jumped on the highest Pro Football Focus graded cornerback in the SEC.
Not too long afterward, five Arkansas players started to receive calls of their own.
1. John Morgan III
John Morgan III is heading to New England after recording 15 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, and a forced fumble in 11 games. Morgan played just one season for the Hogs after transferring from Pitt.
2. Antonio Grier Jr.
Grier committed to the Razorbacks in 2023 from South Florida, and it looks like he's heading back south. Grier has reportedly signed with Tampa Bay. In his time with Arkansas, he racked up 36 tackles, a pick-six, and a pass deflection.
3. Alfahiym Walcott
Of the free agents reportedly contacted, Walcott is the only one who has yet to sign a deal. However, he was invited to the Bills' rookie camp in hopes of earning a spot this summer. He was one half of the transfer duo from Baylor last season and finished the season with 56 tackles, 34 solo, five pass deflections, and three interceptions, including a pick-six against FIU.
4. Brady Latham
Latham has been a staple on the offensive line for the past four seasons. In his college career, he started 47 games and finished the season with a 78.7 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus. He'll continue his career blocking for future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodger, reportedly signing with the Jets.
5. Trajan Jeffcoat
Saints fans seem excited that Trajan Jeffcoat has signed with New Orleans. Jeffcoat came to Arkansas as a transfer from Mizzou. He had a breakout season for the Tigers in 2021 but never really made it back to that level. However, he recorded 16 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks for the Hogs.
