Arkansas exploded out of the gates with 350-plus yards of offense in the first half and three touchdowns, holding Oklahoma State to just seven points. The conditions were ripe for the Razorbacks to go viral on social media with either an upset or an epic implosion. Unfortunately, it was the latter.

Fans felt tricked again by the Heartbreak Hogs, but to make matters worse, Arkansas still looked pretty good in the second half — minus the mental mistakes and turnovers. When the plays were executed, the Razorbacks played like a legitimate SEC team. If you look at the stat sheet, Arkansas gained nearly 300 yards of offense in the second half and overtime but had only one touchdown to show for it. A few fans on X pointed that out.

Social Media Reactions: Oklahoma State

Cousin Shane from That SEC Podcast completely recaps the game for Arkansas with just one meme. The Razorbacks stuck the preverbal stick between their spokes the entire second half. That's how Arkansas can walk away from Stillwater with the stat line it has and an L.

Of course, it was great seeing a vintage Bobby Petrino offense on the field for the Hogs. Many fans started to believe again. So when the Hogs ultimately gave the game away in true Arkansas fashion, fans felt tricked once again.

The last play of the game had drawn some controversy. It was an overloaded formation to the right. However, the play went left, and the Cowboys' defense swallowed up Ja'Quinden Jackson. Many fans and experts were puzzled by the call. To be fair, it wasn't the first time fans saw that play today.

Earlier in the game, Arkansas lined up in the same formation for a short-yardage play but ran for much more than the first down. It just didn't work the second time. That happens. For the most part, Coach Petrino called a wonderful game. The mistakes of the players led to Arkansas's loss, not Petrino.
