The excitement for Arkansas basketball has never been higher. This season is Coach John Calipari's first as the head Hog, and he's brought a highly talented group of players to rebuild the team. And now, Arkansas fans can plan their trips to Fayetteville to watch them in conference play.
The SEC released Arkansas basketball's conference schedule yesterday. The Hogs will start on the road this season with a tough matchup against Tennessee on January 4. Arkansas will have four home games in January, four in February, and another in March for the last game of the season against Mississippi State.
The schedule is relatively easy, but the Hogs have a stretch in the middle that isn't for the faint of heart. Starting February 1, Arkansas will head to Kentucky for Coach Cal's return to the Bluegrass State. Then the Hogs take on Alabama at home, away at Texas, home against LSU, and finally, back-to-back away games at Texas A&M and Auburn. The two remaining home games in February will be against Missouri and Texas.
However, before conference play starts, Arkansas is preparing a fun nonconference schedule that includes Michigan, Illinois, and maybe Kansas as an exhibition game. The rest of the schedule should be released in the coming days.
