Kuhio Aloy earns back-to-back Razorbacker of the Week honors

Aloy's performance in Arlington was outstanding, but what he's done over the past four games against Grambling and Charlotte was nothing short of marvelous.

It wasn't always pretty, but Arkansas swept Charlotte last weekend with the help of its bats. However, one in particular stood out. After sharing the spotlight with his brother last week, Kuhio Aloy is the sole Razorbacker of the Week for his performance against the 49ers and Grambling.

In Arlington, Kuhio made the most of every, going two of five from the plate and hitting near back-to-back solo home runs in the same inning as his brother Wehiwa, who also had an SEC Player of the Week performance. But unlike Wehiwa, Kuhio continued to produce at an elite level this week.

Over the last four games, Aloy went 10/15 at the plate for nine RBIs, three doubles, three walks, and a home run while striking out only once. For those counting at home, he averaged .667 with an on-base percentage of .722 and a slugging percentage of 1.067.

He played a massive role in Arkansas' come-from-behind win in game one. The Hogs were down 9-1 in the bottom of the fourth before they exploded offensively. In his first at-bat during the inning, Aloy walked and was driven home two batters later on a Rocco Peppi two-run double. But on his next at-bat, he hit a three-run double that put the Razorbacks on top for the first and final time. He also hit a two-run shot in the seventh inning of game two that put the game out of reach.

While the way that Aloy is playing might seem unsustainable, he shows no signs of slowing down. You'll get another chance to see the Hawai'i native swing the bat very soon. The Hogs have a midweek series against ULM on Tuesday and Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
