Wehiwa Aloy earns SEC Player of the Week

After batting plus-.500 this weekend, with two home runs, Arkansas baseball short stop Wehiwa Aloy has earned SEC Player of the Week.

Arkansas SS Wehiwa Aloy was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after his performance last weekend in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field.

Aloy went 6-for-11 at the plate over the weekend with a double, two home runs and three RBIs. The Wailuku, Hawai’i native is now slashing for a .417 batting average through seven games with three dingers and seven RBIs while putting together an on-base percentage of .563.

Aloy’s first home run of the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series was a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning of Friday night’s 3-2 loss against the Kansas State Wildcats. His second homer of the weekend was another solo blast down the right field line in Sunday’s 8-6 win over the Michigan Wolverines. He went a perfect 4 of 4 at the dish with a double, a home run and two RBIs while being a triple short of the cycle.

The Razorbacks will welcome the Grambling Tigers to Baum-Walker Stadium on Tuesday for their first midweek game of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game will be streamed on SEC Network+.
