The Arkansas Razorbacks basketball season is still over a month away, but John Calipari's squad is already getting the 2026-27 season started on a high note thanks to the latest recruiting news.
Fresh off 2026's No. 1 recruiting class in the country, Calipari is now looking to add another gem to his collection. With the Hogs officially being named as one of the final seven schools in the hunt for Rivals' 2027 No. 1 overall recruit CJ Rosser, Fayetteville could be well on its way to earning the nation's best recruiting class in back-to-back years.

At roughly 6-foot-10, 200 pounds with plus-athleticism and a 7-foot-3 wingspan, CJ Rosser is one of the most tantalizing prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.
Rosser currently plays for Southeastern Prep in Orlando, Florida, and over the past two years, the bouncy power forward has been recruited by some of the top schools in the country. The Hogs first offered him back in June 2025, with Rosser now scheduled to make an official visit to Fayetteville on September 28.
Arkansas will have plenty of competition. Rosser's final seven also includes Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville, Miami, NC State, and USC, giving Calipari several blue-blood programs to contend with. Rosser, a North Carolina native, begins his official-visit tour with the Tar Heels before making stops at NC State and Miami ahead of his trip to Fayetteville. Kentucky and USC are scheduled to host him almost immediately afterward, making the end of September a potentially pivotal stretch in his recruitment.

CJ Rosser's athleticism and two-way ability would be an instant fit with John Calipari's high-octane offense -- especially if the power forward's three-point shot remains consistent (36.7% in the 2026 FIBA U17 World Cup).
With Jordan Smith Jr., Abdou Toure, JJ Andrews, Miikka Muurinen, and Billy Richmond III all potentially heading to the NBA after this season, there's no telling what the Razorbacks team will look like in 2027-28. Modern college basketball sees more roster turnover than ever, and Calipari's history of developing NBA prospects only makes projecting Arkansas' roster more difficult. However, a player of CJ Rosser's ilk would instantly give John Calipari something to build around roster-wise, making his recruitment process one of the team's most important storylines heading into the second half of September.
Arkansas still has a long way to go before CJ Rosser becomes a Razorback, but after assembling the nation's top 2026 recruiting class and making Rosser's final cut, Arkansas is closer than ever to landing its second No. 1 overall recruiting class in program history. Now, they'll be looking to parlay that recruiting success into their first Final Four bid in over 30 years.
