It was an up and down week for the Arkansas Razorback basketball team following Saturday's 72-56 loss to No. 1 ranked at Tennessee on Saturday, and a 92-62 win over Oakland to start the week on Monday. However, Coach John Calipari's most consistent performer over that stretch (and arguably the season) has been freshman point guard Boogie Fland — earning the Razorbackers first Player of the Week honors for 2025.
Fland tied the team's leading scorer Adou Thiero for the team lead in points against Oakland with a 22-point effort last Monday. He also added a team-high six assists against the Golden Grizzlies.
Saturday against the No. 1 ranked Volunteers in Knoxville, Fland paced the Hogs and scored in double figures with 12 points while adding three steals, rebounds and assists each.
For the season Fland, a native of the Bronx, New York who was a top 25 high school recruit nationally, averages nearly 16 points, six assists and 1.7 steals a game. He also shoots 83 percent from the free throw line while shooting 40 percent from three-point range.
Fland was also recognized as SEC freshman of the week in December.
