To no one's surprise, the Arkansas Razorbacks are not ranked in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2024-25 season. However, there are a few interesting things to note.

The College Football Playoff selection committee ranked eight SEC teams in the top 25. Arkansas has played or will play six, and all but one ranks in the top 16. Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and LSU are all slightly outside the playoff picture, with the Aggies leading the pack at No. 14. The Razorbacks have already played No. 7 Tennessee but will face No. 5 Texas next week and No. 24 Missouri to finish the season.

The other FBS conferences have far less representation. Of all the conferences, the ACC comes in second with five teams. The Big 12 and Big Ten tie for third with four, although all of the Big Ten's teams are ranked in the top 8, so if there were a tie-breaker, it'd go to them. The Mountain West, American Athletic, and what's left of the PAC-12 have one, as well as one independent team.

As it stands today, assuming the top-ranked teams in every conference won their respective championship, the SEC will have four teams, tied with the Big Ten. The ACC, Big 12, and the Mountain West will all have one team. Notre Dame is the lone independent team, coming in at No. 10.
