Arkansas is officially without a center for its bowl game against Texas Tech

Are the Hogs even going to have enough to field a team when it's all said and done?

There’s a saying that’s become popular since the inception of the transfer portal, “The portal taketh and the portal giveth.” Well, the portal’s been open since Monday, and all it’s done is take.

The Arkansas Razorback football team has been decimated since Monday, so much so that the Hogs will be without a true center for their bowl game against Texas Tech.

Arkansas's starting center, Addison Nichols, entered the transfer portal yesterday. Preceding his departure was backup center Amaury Wiggins. They were the only players listed at the position.

Nichols transferred to Arkansas from Tennessee last offseason, anchoring the middle of the offensive with SEC experience. He started all 12 games for the Razorbacks, helping them complete the upset win over his former school and produce a top-15 offense in yards per game.

However, now that he's leaving the team, Arkansas must reach deep into its OL bag to find a suitable replacement for Nichols in only two weeks. Most offensive linemen cross-train positions, so it shouldn’t be hard, but regardless, it’ll be the first time snapping against live competition for whoever wins the starting role.
