Arkansas is allergic to winning. That's it. That's the story. Auburn wins, 33-24.
The Hogs led by 11 points at the end of the first half, thanks to a pick-six by Kani Walker. Even better, the Razorback defense was the very definition of "bend, don't break". It gave up 380 yards, but only gave up one offensive touchdown. Instead, it was Tiger's place kicker, Alex McPherson, who made 6/6 field goals to keep Auburn in the game.
It was the offense that couldn't get its head in the game.
Arkansas Offense Turns the Ball Over four consecutive possessions
Arkansas only scored three points in the second half — not because Auburn's defense was incredible in the final 30 minutes, either. In six second-half possessions, the Hogs turned over the ball on four of them — four consecutive to end the season, to be specific.
Taylen Green threw his first pick-six of the season, negating Walker's to start the fourth. On the next drive, Arkansas' leading wide receiver O'Mega Blake fumbled as the Hogs were diving the field. Then, on the final two Razorback possessions of the game, Green threw two more interceptions.
While most of the blame should lie on the shoulders of Green and the passing game, solely because of the turnovers, the rushing attack was nonexistent. Before today, Arkansas averaged 225 yards a game on the ground. But against the Tigers, the Hogs only managed 63.
Now, in order to make a bowl game, Arkansas must win out, and its final four games are against Mississippi State, No. 20 LSU, No. 22 Texas, and No. 15 Missouri.
