Saturday's game against Auburn was essentially the last phase of Bobby Petrino's audition to remove his interim tag and make himself the Head Hog again after a decade away from Fayetteville. Unfortunately, it was a complete flop.
Surprisingly, the defense played well enough to win, giving up only one offensive touchdown, but the offense couldn't get out of its own way against the Tigers. Four consecutive turnovers to finish the game put the Hogs out of reach, including three interceptions thrown by Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green.
The second-half woes for the Arkansas offense in particular are a crucial blow to Petrino's future at Arkansas. As one fan pointed out, the Hogs had more second-half turnovers than second-half points. In fact, fans (or at least the loud ones) seem to be over the Petrino hype.

Auburn digs out of an 11-point deficit and should beat Arkansas, up 33-24 late.

The win would snap a four-game winning streak. Big one for Hugh Freeze. https://t.co/lOc0H0QdzJ
The Arkansas offense was tired of hearing about the defense blowing games, apparently

Just a total and complete meltdown by the Hogs, who committed turnovers on their last four possessions.
Hogs gave up one offensive touchdown.

Turning off Arkansas’s 6th straight loss to see Vandy and Mizzou in a top 15 matchup really just tops it all off

On a brighter note, the Arkansas basketball season is just around the corner. They demolished Cincinnati on Friday night in the first exhibition game of the year. Monday, the Hogs will travel to Memphis for their second. Finally, the season begins on November 3 against Southern.
I’m officially ready for basketball season.
