Arkansas dropped its fifth straight game, losing to Missouri 65-83 and starting 0-5 in conference play for the first time since the 1985-86 season.

Beyond the Box Score: Arkansas basketball vs Mizzou

Free Throws

Arkansas is struggling to get to the free-throw line on a game-to-game basis. They didn't attempt their first free throw until there was 11:34 left in the game. They only attempted eight free throws compared to Missouri's 19 attempts while scoring 42 points in the paint.

When they do make it to the charity stripe, they don't capitalize on the opportunity. Over the last five games, Arkansas has made only 66.7% from the free-throw line. Against Missouri, they shot 50%, going 4-8 from the line.

Defending the 3

Defending the three-point line has been inconsistent for the Hogs this season. In almost every game, they allow their opponents to get open shot attempts from behind the arc. This allows teams to either pull ahead or stay in the game.

They allowed Missouri to get hot from long-distance as they made nine three-pointers in the first half shooting 53% from deep. The second half was much better, holding them to 2-6 from three, but the damage was already done.

Turnovers

The Razorbacks have struggled with taking care of the ball this season averaging 11.6 turnovers per game, which ranks 134th in the nation according to ncaa.com. Poor decision-making and awareness are big reasons they turn the ball over at a high rate. These issues lead to bad passes and carelessness which disrupts the flow of the offense.

Arkansas had a number of errant passes and poor decision-making against Missouri. They coughed up the ball 13 times and Missouri took advantage scoring 13 points off of turnovers.

A Positive Note

Zvonimir Ivisic had his best game since November and was the best player on the court for the Hogs. He was impactful throughout the entire game tallying 14 points and 10 rebounds along with two blocks. His role has diminished throughout the year, but he may be a key part in helping this team turn the corner.
