It's getting bad in Fayetteville. Tonight was a beating in CoMo. Arkansas never as much as sniffed victory in tonight's 83-65 blowout loss to Missouri.
The Razorbacks have started each of their first four SEC games on fire but lost it after the first 10 minutes, giving up massive leads against three of them. Tonight, Arkansas didn't have to worry about it. After the first score of the game for the Hogs, Missouri went on a 5-minute-24-second, 18-point run to go ahead 18-2 with little over 13 minutes left in the half.
While Arkansas's defense was abysmal in the first half, Mizzou looked like the 2015-16 Golden Warriors in the first 20. The Tigers couldn't miss a three-point shot if they tried.
Three players knocked down multiple tres, including Caleb Grill and Tamar Bates' three baskets a piece. As a team, Missouri shot 52.9 percent from beyond the arc and 55.9 from the floor.
The second half was much better defensively for Arkansas. It held the Tigers to 31 points and only six attempts from the three-point line, 11 less than in the first half. Unfortunately, the Hogs couldn't get out of their own way, with turnovers, poor shot selection, and bad free throw shooting — what little there was.
The Razorbacks are coming home after losing their fifth consecutive conference game. They'll take on Georgia on Wednesday, January 22.
