The No. 2 Arkansas Razorbacks (25-3; 7-1 SEC) defeated the No. 14 Vanderbilt Commodores (20-7; 4-4 SEC) 6-4 in the 10th inning, giving the Hogs their third consecutive SEC series win. The Hogs seek their second consecutive SEC series sweep today in Nashville.

Riley McFerran, Managing Editor at Hawg Beat, noted that this is the first time the Razorbacks have won a series against Vanderbilt since 2017 and the first series win in Nashville since 2010. Therefore, no one should regard this as a typical SEC series victory. Vanderbilt is talented and difficult to defeat at home. If the Hogs sweep them today, what they will have accomplished this weekend in Nashville against the Commodores will be even more special.

After Cam Kozeal hit two home runs Friday against the Commodores, he blasted another home run yesterday that permitted the Hogs to take an early 2-0 lead. Kozeal finished the game with only one hit on four attempts and three RBIs.

Arkansas had excellent pitching throughout the game. Gabe Gaeckle started the game, giving the Hogs 5.2 innings. In those innings, he only surrendered six hits and two earned runs, had no walks, and seven strikeouts. In relief for Gaeckle, Aiden Jimenez only allowed one run and three hits and had four strikeouts.

Some other key highlights: Justin Thomas Jr. delivered a solo home run, and Brent Iredale, Cam Kozeal, and Ryder Helfrick were responsible for the three runs in the 10th inning that permitted the Hogs to emerge victorious. Many in Razorback Nation expressed on social media how happy they were with the No. 2 Arkansas Razorbacks defeating the No. 14 Vanderbilt Commodores 6-4 in Nashville to clinch their third consecutive SEC weekend series.
