For the fourth time under Sam Pittman, the Razorbacks have earned a bowl game after defeating Louisiana Tech 35-14, and they were able to accomplish that task despite playing one of the worst halves of football this season.
Some have been overly critical of Taylen Green this season, but the Boise State transfer struggled all night with accuracy. However, as the game progressed, Green found his footing, finishing with 221 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
Andrew Armstrong was his usual self, gaining 81 yards on eight receptions and taking the lead in the SEC in terms of receiving yards. But it was Isaac Tesla who hoarded the touchdowns (2), giving him his first multiple-touchdown game of the season.
The real comeback story of the night was the running game. Arkansas had -11 yards at the end of the first quarter. That didn't last long as the Hogs rushed for 120 in the second quarter, sparking the offense. The Razorbacks finished with 233 yards on the ground.
LA Tech couldn't do much against the Hogs. Its first touchdown was practically given to the Bulldogs after a weak roughing the passer flag on Ian Geffrard. Other than one drive and the fluke touchdown, Arkansas's defense held them in check, especially on the ground. LA Tech had a measly 39 rushing yards by the game's end.
Arkansas has one final test before the end of the regular season against Missouri. The Tigers were a dark horse SEC contender at the beginning of the season. However, they've been largely a disappointment since being blown out by Texas A&M. The Razorbacks have never beaten Mizzou in Columbia. But a win could put the Razorbacks in a decent bowl and end this roller coaster of a season on a high note.
