The No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks (17-2; 1-1 SEC) destroyed the No. 13 Ole Miss Rebels (15-3; 1-1 SEC) 12-3 in Oxford in the second game of the first SEC weekend series of the season. After the Hogs lost the first game of the series 10-6, Dave Van Horn reminded folks that "It's just one of 30." Equally important, Van Horn stated, "Our guys are just disappointed we lost, but we got to learn from it and just move on."

Razorback fans should have felt encouraged to hear no alarm bells from Van Horn and to know his players were "disappointed" they lost. Although the game was "just one of 30," knowing the team is uncomfortable with losing is vital, even if "It's just one of 30." Therefore, Van Horn's response may not only reveal why the Hogs played such an impressive second game, but it may also lay bare the team's serious commitment to winning, no matter who it plays, no matter where it plays, and no matter if "It's just one of 30."

Although the Razorbacks were down 2-1 heading into the fifth inning, triggering despair for some Hog fans skeptical about their team's hitting capabilities against SEC opponents, Arkansas showed that those offensive explosions it delivered against non-conference teams, including in run-rule wins, can materialize against SEC foes, starting with the Ole Miss Rebels. Scoring eight runs in one inning against the thirteenth-ranked team in the nation is impressive.

The impressive eight-run fifth inning would be all Arkansas needed to secure a 12-3 win and Dave Van Horn's 900th at Arkansas. As Daniel Shi, an Arkansas Razorbacks beat writer at Sports Illustrated, disclosed, Van Horn witnessed his Razorbacks hit five home runs. Without question, Arkansas's players helped make his 900th win at Arkansas one of the most memorable. Many Arkansas fans and media expressed on social media how thrilled they were with Arkansas embarrassing the No. 13 Ole Miss Rebels on their home field.Β Β
