Although the No. 11 Arkansas Razorbacks (39-9, 16-7 SEC) lost three consecutive SEC weekend series coming into this series against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns (38-7, 19-4 SEC), the Hogs have looked like that elite former top-ranked team in both wins against the Horns at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville. With this impressive victory, Arkansas wins the series, ending its unpleasant three-series conference losing streak.
Gage Wood, who was on a 60-pitch restriction while recovering from a serious shoulder injury, deserves to be this game's MVP. He set the tone for the game with his infectious energy and dominant pitching. Wood gave his team four excellent innings, surrendering only one run and two hits, and delivered nine strikeouts. Gabe Gaeckle entered in relief for Wood. Gaeckle pitched three shutout innings, allowing only two hits, and had five strikeouts. Aiden Jimenez pitched the final two shutout innings and allowed only one hit.
Although Arkansas's batters did what was required to win this game, the previously mentioned pitching performances merit the most credit. Given that the Razorbacks' pitchers, primarily their starting pitchers, have deservedly received much negative criticism lately for poor performances, Razorback Nation should praise them for how well they have performed against Texas in the first two games of this series. To be fair, many in Razorback Nation have celebrated the pitchers in the first two games of this series on social media.
After the No. 11 Arkansas Razorbacks dominated the No. 1 Texas Longhorns again in the second game of the series, winning the series in Fayetteville, Hog fans and media celebrated the team's impressive performance on social media.

Cory Stewart, a Razorback fan, wishes Arkansas had more players like Brent Iredale.
One of my favorite moments from tonight was this collision after a ball 4. The Texas catcher goes flying after bumping into Iredale, while Brent barely moves an inch.

Give me 100 Brent Iredales and that gorilla doesn't stand a chance. pic.twitter.com/lbiTmajAgD
