The No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks (31-3; 11-1 SEC) defeated their in-state rivals, the Arkansas State Red Wolves (14-18; 5-7 Sun Belt), 7-3 at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville. Despite Arkansas State's significant talent disadvantage in this contest, the Red Wolves held their own against the Razorbacks, giving Razorback Nation more discomfort than expected.

The Red Wolves led the Hogs through the first four innings 2-1, producing much of that discomfort. However, in the fifth inning, Charles Davalan, the genuine star of this game, hit a three-run homer, supplying the Razorbacks with a 4-3 lead to end the inning.

Kuhio Aloy delivered a two-run home run in the sixth inning, bringing Arkansas's lead to 6-3. The Razorbacks added one more run in the sixth inning, extending the lead to 7-3, ultimately the final score. According to ESPN, the Hogs used six pitchers, surrendering only three runs on seven hits. Without question, the Hogs' pitching staff has excellent depth.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves deserve much credit for coming to Baum-Walker Stadium and playing a quality game against the top team in the country. However, Charles Davalan and Kuhio Aloy's homers ultimately secured the win. Many in Razorback Nation expressed how happy they were that the No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks handled their business against Arkansas State.
