The Arkansas football team lost their third-straight game of the season when they fell at home to Auburn 23-38.

The Razorbacks trailed for almost the entire game, save for a five minute stretch in the third quarter.

The Hogs’ defense struggled to contain Auburn QB Bo Nix, who has his best game of the 2021 season. Nix was 21 of 26 on passes for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns.

A loss to Auburn is difficult to accept after seeing losses to Georgia and Ole Miss in the weeks prior, even if those two teams are proving to be in the upper echelon of the SEC.

After losing three-straight games is the Arkansas football team still ranked?

The latest rankings in the USA Today Coaches Poll were released and six SEC teams were on the list. The Hogs are not one of them. The Arkansas football team has dropped out of the Coaches Poll.

Entering the game against Auburn, the Arkansas football team was ranked No. 19 in that poll. There is some room for optimism, the Hogs still received votes from the coaches to be ranked, just not enough to place in the Top 25. The Razorbacks received 31 votes, the third-most of any non-ranked team this week.

The news doesn’t get any better from here, as the Arkansas football team dropped out of the AP Top 25 poll as well.

Previously, the Hogs were ranked No. 17 in the AP Top 25 despite losing to Ole Miss.

Fortunately, as in the Coaches Poll, the Razorbacks received some votes, but not enough to crack the Top 25. The Razorbacks received 29 votes.

The Razorbacks now turn their attention to an in-state, non-conference opponent in Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Hogs are set to face that team Oct. 23 at 11 AM CT on the SEC Network. After that game, the Hogs will not play again until Nov. 6 against Mississippi State.
