Game week is finally here for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the season will finally kick off at Razorback Stadium on Saturday

To say Arkansas Razorbacks football has had a rough ten-year stretch would be the understatement of the decade. Having grown up in Arkansas and having earned a degree from the University of Arkansas it is tough to see the football team continue to struggle. Arkansas fans at this point would just like to see some effort out of this team and a coherent coaching identity. Laying out realistic expectations for this Arkansas football team is going to be attempted in this article.

First on the offensive side of the ball, Arkansas fans just want to see a coherent style of attack. After several years of being told the left lane and hammer down, fans just want to see an effective style of attack whether it be on the ground or through the air. Feleipe Franks gives the Hogs a proven signal caller that has SEC experience and the ability to get out of the pocket when things break down. Running back Rakeem Body will look to build upon a solid resume to the next level with an even bigger 2020 season. The receivers are talented and can stretch the field, it just comes down to giving Franks time to throw the ball.

Last season nowhere was the lack of effort more obvious than on the defensive side of the ball. Arkansas had guys go to the NFL in Kamren Curl and McTelvin Agim both were guys that played hard and provided good leadership for a team that was not impressive on the field. The Razorbacks will look for linebackers Grant Morgan and Bumper Pool to be the leaders on and off the field. Arkansas fans just want to see effort out of the defense, force some turnovers, get some defensive stops, and stop the explosive play.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are starting from the ground up and they will have to learn to walk before they can crawl. Arkansas fans will need to be patient as the group starts to find its footing once again under a new coaching staff. My prediction as well as where to find the game on television and what the weather will be will come later in the week. Until then look for the weekly recruiting profile tomorrow and all the Razorback news that breaks through the week will be right here on www.razorbackers.com.
