The past ten years at the University of Arkansas have been a rough one for the fans and the football program. Arkansas was not impressive during the Bret Bielema era and that mediocre play grew worse during the Chad Morris era. Arkansas is now on the cusp of a new era with Sam Pittman coming in as the head Hog. With the toughest schedule in school history, the question is what will constitute a successful season?

To start things off, we are living in a different time these days. COVID-19 has caused a great many changes and those were not limited to the college football season. The Arkansas Razorbacks will open this season against the Georgia Bulldogs, and they will close the season against the Alabama Crimson Tide. In between Georgia and Alabama will be defending national champion LSU and numerous other ranked opponents.

It is not as simple as identifying the wins and losses on the schedule this year for the Razorbacks. Arkansas fans need to start observing the little things, for example, are the players not giving up on a play, are they finishing routes, and do they look like they belong on the same field as other SEC teams. Recruiting is an area that needs to continue to improve. When the recruiting is solid the wins will follow.

Wins on the field may be tough to come by this season but doing the little things off the field is what is going to turn this thing around. Bottom line, Arkansas cannot continue to fire coaches, so Pittman is here for the next few years. Pittman’s recruiting has always been solid, and his players will compete. The Arkansas fan base will need to be patient in an era where patience is at a short supply.

On Wednesday we will bring you a recruiting update for the football program and start to break down the first opponent of the season the Georgia Bulldogs. Thursday we will give a preview of key recruits’ high school football openers and what can be excepted for the season. Friday will be a look at Arkansas high school football and Saturday will be a recap of the previous night. Football season is upon us and it is time to enjoy it!
