The Razorbacks came out shooting well and lead by as much as 17 in the first half, and took a 36-23 lead into the locker room after Tennessee put together a short run of points to close the half. Tennessee had no answer for the Hog’s in the front court. Jimmy Whitt had his best performance in SEC play, and the three headed monster of Hannahs, Bell, and Kingsley looked as good as ever. Anton Beard, Jabril Durham, and Manny Watkins all contributed on offense as well, as the Hogs would put the lead to 24 with around 4:30 left in the game. As the game drew to a close, it became obvious that Arkansas was going to cruise to a double digit win in SEC play, something that hasn’t happened since the Mississippi State win.

Players of the Game

  • The Three Headed Monster – Anthlon Bell, Moses Kingsley, and Dusty Hannahs. I mean, at this point, this is just an understood thing. These three guys are all in the top 10 leading scorers in the conference, and are all getting national recognition for their play. These 3 guys combined for 40 of the Hogs 85 points.
  • Jimmy Whitt – The freshman guard had his best SEC performance so far. Whitt was 4-5 from the field, including 2-2 from the three point line. Whitt finished with 10 points on the night.
  • Anton Beard – The sophomore guard is finally back into the swing of things after missing the first half of the season. Beard added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals off the bench tonight. Big numbers and minutes for the Hogs.

The Hogs needed this win in a big way. The win puts the Arkansas Razorbacks back in the winning column, and keeps their chances for postseason play alive. If Arkansas can keep getting solid bench scoring from guys like Whitt and Beard, then they’ll have a pretty good shot of closing strong on this season.
