NCAA Gymnastics: Arkansas Razorbacks Earn Eight All-American Honors

Duluth, Georgia- After the completion of the 2012 NCAA Gymnastic Championship April 20-22, 59 SEC members earned All-American honors. Of the 59 SEC gymnasts named, 26 were First-Team All-Americans including four earned by the Arkansas Lady Razorback gymnastics’ team.

Senior Jamie Pisani finished the 2012 season with three All-American honors and sophomore Katherine Grable with one First-Team placement.

Jamie Pisani earned First-Team honors on the balance beam, floor exercise, and all-around events. Katherine Grable earned her First-Team All-American award on the balance beam.

Grable earned two All-American honors last year as a freshman. She was First-Team on the floor exercise and Second-Team All-American on the vault.

The Lady Razorbacks earned four Second-Team All-American honors Katherine Grable on the vault, Jamie Pisani on the uneven bars, sophomore Bailee Zumwalde and freshman Stephani Canizaro on the floor exercise. The All-American awards were the first earned for Zumwalde and Canizaro.

Pisani, the 2012 SEC Gymnast of the Year, ends her career at Arkansas with 13 total All-American honors having won the award three times in her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons.

The Razorbacks have earned 36 total All-American honors in the school’s 10-year history of the sport. Nine different gymnasts have totaled 23 honors with Pisani earning 13 since the first award in 2008.

Pisani tied Casey Jo Magee’s school record of four All-American honors in a single season. Magee won four in 2010 for the Razorbacks.
