NFL training camp is in full swing, and so far throughout the league, injuries seem to be taking over the news, and unfortunately for Treylon Burks, he has found himself in the thick of it.
In practices over the weekend, Burks suffered a collarbone injury, which was later revealed to have broken, basically ending his season before it even started. Burks was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft with the 18th overall pick, and now, today, he is no longer with the team as the Titans have decided to waive the star wide receiver after the injury, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Burks was drafted by the Titans to replace wide receiver AJ Brown, whom the Titans traded to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft. Now that Burks has been waived from the team, it is official that the Titans were overwhelmingly on the losing side of that trade.
While at Arkansas, Burks had a breakout season as a junior where he hauled in 66 catches for 1,104 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns, averaging 16.7 yards per catch. That performance in 2021 is what made him such a high choice for the Titans.
In three seasons in the NFL, Burks never eclipsed 500 receiving yards for the Titans, and this last season was his worst with the injuries he faced. Burks only appeared in five games in 2024 and had just four catches for 34 yards. The young wide receiver also has just one career touchdown, which came in his rookie season.
Now, Burks is left with an injured collarbone and no NFL team to play for. Unfortunately, with the way his NFL stats look, Burks and not being able to play this season, signing with a new team could be highly unlikely.
