After every team's annual opponents were leaked on Monday, the SEC has revealed the rest of Arkansas football's conference opponents through 2029.
In 2026, the Razorbacks will have a great home schedule with Georgia, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, and Tennessee coming to Fayetteville. Arkansas will then travel to Auburn, Texas, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt. The following season, the Hogs will host Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Texas, while traveling to Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
Arkansas SEC opponents: first takeaways
Finally, Arkansas avoids the SEC West
When Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC, fans were hopeful that Arkansas would get some relief from the grind of the SEC West. After all, the conference was moving away from divisions. Unfortunately, they were met with a slightly tweaked SEC West schedule, essentially just trading out Alabama for Texas—as soon as Nick Saban retired from the Tide and the Longhorns started to be good again, I might add.
So, seeing as there are only two traditional SEC West opponents on the schedule next season, excluding Arkansas' annual matchup with LSU, the 2026 schedule is a breath of fresh air.
No Oklahoma in 2026
One of the worst things about the schedule is that Arkansas will have to wait another two seasons to play Oklahoma.
The Sooners are Arkansas’ nearest SEC neighbor, just 247 miles and a three-hour, 38-minute drive from Fayetteville to Norman. What's crazy is that the two schools have only played 15 times ever in football, with the last game being played in the 2001 Cotton Bowl. Oklahoma won 10-3. The last time the Hogs won was in 1977, beating the Sooners 31-6 in the Orange Bowl.
If given the chance, it could blossom into an intense rivalry, but Hogs fans will have to wait a while longer to see it happen.
Missouri comes to Fayetteville, Hogs travel to Austin in back-to-back seasons
Missouri will travel to Fayetteville in 2025, but somehow, Arkansas lucked out with the Tigers coming to Razorback Stadium in 2026, too. The Hogs have never beaten Mizzou in Columbia, so it adds a bit of hope for the next two years. However, what the SEC giveth, the SEC taketh.
On the contrary, Arkansas will make the trip to Austin in back-to-back seasons, too. The last time the Hogs and Horns met in Austin was in 2008. Texas destroyed Arkansas 52-10.
