Offense is still the highlight of the SEC, with seven quarterbacks averaging 250 yards passing per game. Even more impressive is all seven were pulled at least once in the first two games after blowing out their opponents.

Ole Miss Jaxon Dart is leading the SEC in yards, throwing for 795 yards with a 247.4 passer rating through two games. One hundred and fifty yards behind Dart is Arkansas's Taylen Green at 645 yards, followed by Garrett Nussmeier at 610 yards. The remaining seven are Nico Iamaleave from Tennessee with 525 yards, Georgia's Carson Beck with 520 yards, Mississippi State's Blake Shapen with 515 yards, and our No. 1 QB in the power rankings, Quinn Ewers of Texas.

As you can see, total yards don't necessarily equate to power rankings. Blake Shapen is No. 6 in yards but No. 13 in the power rankings. It's tough to really gauge how good or bad QBs are until conference play starts. The case in point is Brock Vandagriff, but we'll get to him later.

Shapen has been consistent, but in the game against Arizona State, he showed up late, leading the offense to only 82 total yards. He also couldn't complete the comeback, which would have bumped him up a few spots. Taylen Green has the second-most yards but is ranked No. 8 because of his many costly mistakes. Brady Cook and Jalen Milroe are higher for the opposite reason. Although their stats aren't as shiny (but still not too shabby) as the others, they've been consistent and clutch when needed.

While those few QBs are undoubtedly at the top of the conference, QB seems to be on the rise after Saturday's performance. Fortunately for everyone else in the SEC, Billy Napier isn't going to start him over Graham Mertz. Freshman DJ Lagway was electric in his first start, completing 21 of his 31 pass attempts for 456 yards. That was good enough to be tied for eighth in passing yards in the SEC with Auburn's starter, Payton Thorne.

But what about the bottom of the league? The Weigman and Mertz's of the SEC. One player is joining them after starting in the top 8. Brock Vandagriff and Kentucky had one of the worst performances from an SEC team outside of Vanderbilt since the prime Chad Morris Arkansas years. The former five-star regressed the Wildcats into a 1930s football team against the Gamecocks. He had the single worst stat line this writer has ever seen, going three for ten for 30 yards and an interception. That's why he dropped seven spots in the week three QB power rankings.
