Another week of SEC football has wrapped up. The league went 11-3 against nonconference opponents after going 13-3 in week one.

Only a few Power Four matchups took place, including Texas beating the brakes off of Michigan, Arkansas shooting themselves in the foot against Oklahoma State, South Carolina surprising Kentucky, and Cal knocking off Auburn in Jordan-Hare.

Offenses have been a strength for the league this season, but when the opponents step up in talent, teams haven’t fared well. So far, the SEC is 4-6 against nonconference power four opponents.

Kentucky is by far the largest drop, moving from No. 8 to No. 14. Its offense reverted to the 1930s, with Brock Vandagriff completing only 3 passes for 30 yards. South Carolina — a team that barely beat Old Dominion the week before — embarrassed the Wildcats 31 to 6 and only recorded 252 yards.

Although Arkansas lost to Oklahoma State, the Hogs look like one of the better teams in the conference. Gaining 640+ yards while holding your opponent to 385 and still losing takes talent. I don’t know what kind, but talent, nevertheless. All kidding aside, if the Razorbacks clean up their mistakes, they’ll be a dangerous team in the SEC this year. That’s why they’ve moved from No. 11 to No. 8.
