There's never a dull day in the SEC. Kentucky took No. 1 ranked Georgia to the wire, LSU and South Carolina delivered for ESPN's College GameDay, and the clock finally struck midnight on Vandy's Cinderella story.

The SEC Power Rankings shuffled a lot this week, including a new No.1 and No. 16 teams. Georgia's one the most talented teams in the country. There's no team that the Bulldogs couldn't compete with. However, their performance against Kentucky is concerning.

Just the week prior, the Wildcats were clobbered by South Carolina 32-6 yet were able to hold Georgia to 260 total yards? It's much more believable that a team plays down than one miraculously plays up out of nowhere. That's not to mention their struggles early against Clemson. That's why there's a new No. 1.

As much as it's disgusting to hear, the Texas Longhorns are the No. 1 team in this week's power rankings. Quinn Ewers was hurt in last week's game against UTSA, but there was little drop-off when the Longhorns switched to Arch Manning. That might change when Texas starts playing the SEC, but they have one of the easiest schedules in the conference, per CBS Sports.

Now, on the other end of the spectrum is Mississippi State. The Bulldogs have found themselves in the basement after losing to Toledo by an embarrassing score of 41-17. Jeff Lebby's team showed a lot of fight against Arizona State, storming back to within seven after going into the locker room down 27-3. But against Toledo, Mississippi State laid down and quit. There's no excuse for a Group of Five school to beat an SEC school by four scores.
