Khalif Battle settles on a new home out west
Joe Tipton reported Sunday that Arkansas transfer Khalif Battle has finally selected his new home. The explosive guard has chosen to take his west to Gonzaga.
The former Temple transfer was highly recruited in the 2023 transfer portal. Arkansas fans anticipated great things when he committed to the Razorbacks. It took a while, but they weren't disappointed.
Battle had trouble finding playing time early in the season. He had a few games where he got hot but could never sustain the heat. However, on February 28, Battle had one of the greatest single-game performances in Razorback history. Battles scored 42 points in Arkansas's win over Missouri. That performance was good enough for the second-best in this century, coming behind only Rotnei Clarke's 51-point performance against Alcorn State.
The game was a catalyst for six more incredible performances by the New Jersey native, scoring 20 or more points the rest of the season and two more with 34 or more points. Although the end of his season was incredible, he only finished his Arkansas career with 14.8 points a game at a rate of 40.6 percent from the field and 35.3 from the 3-point line.
