Hogs unphased by unlucky pick-six, go into half up 21-7
The Razorbacks are looking great in every aspect of the game. The defense was unrelenting, the offense was electric, and special teams were perfect.
Through two quarters of play, Arkansas outgained the Cowboys 351 yards to 77. For years, Arkansas has used a stable of backs to implement its rushing game, but it's been the Ja'Quinden Jackson show through 30 minutes. The Utah transfer recorded 90 yards and three touchdowns, with another 13 yards in the passing game. Taylen Green has 68 of his own rushing yards to bring the team total to 158.
The Hogs also dominated through the air, with six receivers bringing in a catch for 193 yards. Andrew Armstrong leads the team with 71 yards. Granted, 35 came on the last play of the half. Isaiah Sategna and Tyrone Broden have 47 and 30 yards, respectively, while Isaac TeSlaa has 32 yards on only one reception.
The defense was soul-crushing for the Pokes. Oklahoma State gained the majority of its yards through the air, recording 64. No Ok State receiver has more than 17 yards. However, the most impressive stat is Arkansas holding Ollie Gordon to only 11 yards on six carries.
The only time Oklahoma State managed to get close to the endzone was on a lucky pick-six, where Green was hit while throwing. Jaheim Singletary returned the favor, picking off Alan Bowman near the end of the half after he tried to pick on the former five-star recruit all game.
Arkansas is set to receive the ball in the second half. If the Hogs can march down the field for another touchdown, it might be the beginning of the end for the Cowboys.
