Dominique Johnson has entered the transfer portal
Isaiah Augustave left Arkansas just a few hours after the spring game earlier this month and was replaced quickly with Rodney Hill. Now, the Hogs are down another with the departure of Dominique Johnson.
However, it's especially disappointing that the fifth-year senior is leaving. His time with Arkansas was plagued by injury, tearing his ACL in back-to-back years. He was also as much a Razorback as anyone on the team. Fans might remember his commitment. Johnson was verbally committed to Missouri for months, but when the time came, he surprised everyone when he unzipped his jacket to find an Arkansas T-shirt.
Johnson essentially clenched the starting job by the end of his sophomore season, but his injury in the 2022 Outback Bowl sidelined him, and Raheim Sanders broke out the following season. He recorded 575 yards on 97 attempts for 7.5 yards a carry and seven touchdowns that season. He finished his career at Arkansas with 785 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, 4.3 yards a carry, 75 receiving yards, and another touchdown through the air.
Arkansas is back to four scholarship running backs and seven spots open for next season's roster.
