Yesterday, the NCAA released the seeding for the 2024 NCAA softball tournament. The Razorbacks were selected as the No. 12 seed.

The last few games have been anything but normal for Arkansas softball. One delay after another hurt the Hogs in their series against Ole Miss and their game against Missouri in the SEC tournament.

However, those two losses weren’t enough to keep the Razorbacks from hosting a regional. As a 12th seed, Arkansas will face Southeast Missouri State, Arizona, and Villanova.  Arizona and Villanova have 30-plus wins this season, and Villanova was the Big East regular season and tournament champions. SEMO has only 28 wins but were the Ohio Valley Conference champions.

Arkansas played Arizona and SEMO as part of its nonconference schedule. The Razorbacks split two games with the Wildcats but swept the Cardinals in the Woo Pig Classic.

The Hogs will not host a super regional unless No. 5 Oklahoma States doesn't advance to the Super Regional stage of the tournament. Arkansas would then play the winner of the Stillwater Regional in Fayetteville.

The Fayetteville regional will take place between May 17-19. The Hogs will face SEMO at 8:30 p.m. The Battle of the Wildcats (Villanova and Arizona) will take place just before Arkansas's game at 6 p.m. Both games are scheduled on ESPN+.
