Just a few days after the conclusion of spring practice, backup quarterback Jacolby Criswell is expected to enter the transfer portal.

Brandon Marcello reported on Monday the former four-star prospect will choose a new home after one season with the Razorbacks. Criswell's career started at North Carolina, where he spent three years behind current starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders Sam Howell and projected first-round draft pick Drake Maye. He played in 14 games as a Tarheel.

As a Morrilton, Ark. native, Criswell's return home was a welcomed sight by Hog fans. He rode the bench behind three-year starter KJ Jefferson, hoping to earn the top spot after he left. However, with the addition of Boise State transfer Taylen Green, those hopes faded quickly. Reports came out of spring practice that he was also in danger of losing his spot as QB2. In his one year as a Razorback, Criswell completed 17-of-27 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns in four games.

Criswell will have two years of eligibility left with his new team. With his departure, Arkansas now has seven available scholarships to use when the spring transfer portal window opens today. Sam Pittman stated the team intends to target offensive and defensive linemen, wide receivers, and linebackers.
