It wasn't enough that Arkansas was trying to overcome the last two seasons, dealing with COVID-19, and playing in an all-SEC schedule. No, the league had to hand the Razorbacks Georgia and Florida as the two added conference opponents.
There wasn't going to be a transition period for Coach Pittman. The first look at what a Pittman-led team would look like just happened to be against one of the best teams in the SEC East. However, the unthinkable was happening in Fayetteville by halftime.
Arkansas held the Bulldogs to five points in the first half and led 7-5. Anecdotally, this writer was ready to build a statue. It was just the irrational sense of euphoria (although short-lived) that had been missing since 2017. Unfortunately, reality slapped us back to Earth when Georgia scored 32 points to Arkansas's three in the second half.
