As the fifth Razorback, Nikki Hiltz qualifies for the Olympics with historic run
Another Razorback will represent the US in the 2024 Paris Olympics as Nikki Hiltz wins the 1500m.
On Friday, Hiltz came in first place in their heat, advancing to the trial finals on Sunday. Hiltz drafted behind Emily Mackay, Elle St. Pierre, and Heather Maclean with around 200 meters left in the race. In the final 100m, Hiltz makes their move, sprinting around all three.
Their time of 3:55.33 was not only a personal record and meet record, but it was the second-best women's 1500m time in American history. Mackay and St. Pierre finish close behind with PRs of their own, 3:55.90 and 3:55.99, respectively.
