The recruiting is still moving at a record pace for Arkansas basketball. The Hogs have their first prospect of the 2025 class.

Darius Acuff Jr. called the Hogs this afternoon. He's the No. 1 point guard in his class per 247Sports and the No. 2 according to On3. He's a composite five-star with a 0.9967 rating and the No. 8 player in the country.

Here's what Directory of Scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote about the IMG Academy product:

"Acuff is the most dominant and dynamic lead guard in the class, who plays with outward confidence. He controls the offensive end of the floor with the ball in his hands and has a variety of versatile tools at his disposal...

"Acuff is most effective when he’s making those around him better and asserting himself as efficiently as possible. He has good vision and is a talented passer, but like many young scoring lead guards, he can sometimes dominate the ball and settle for unnecessarily tough shots. Defensively, his physicality and competitiveness should be long-term assets, while he gradually seems to be getting a little looser in his hips."

John Calipari has already turned Arkansas into a basketball destination for some of the most talented players in the nation. Acuff chose the Hogs over Kansas and Michigan, as well as many notable offers that didn't make his top-3 schools. In the 2024 class, Arkansas ranks in the top-3 in both the high school and transfer rankings and is the No. 1 overall ranked class.
