Three reasons Arkansas football will have success in 2024
The defensive line
There is uncertainty in nearly every single position. The one that every Hog fan should have confidence in is the defense line.
Deke Adams has created great depth at the position. Through high school recruiting and the transfer portal, he turned the defensive line into the bedrock of this Arkansas team. Of course, the biggest addition has to be Landon Jackson.
Texarkana native took a little longer to arrive in Fayetteville, taking a detour at LSU. But once he got here, he’s torn up opposing offensive lines. His performance against Alabama alone made him one of the most wanted defensive ends in last year‘s NFL draft. Luckily for Arkansas, he had unfinished business to attend to.
The All-Star defensive end isn’t the only person you should watch out for. Another transfer, Anton Juncaj, tore it up at the FCS level, recording an impressive 12 sacks. But even he is behind Nico Davillier, who is finally getting his break. There are also former four-star underclassmen Quincy Rhodes, Charleston Collins, and Kavion Henderson to fill in the depth.
You can’t forget about the big guys on the inside. Cam Ball is returning after having a great season last year. And one of the most seasoned and underrated defensive tackles in the SEC is returning in Eric Gregory. There’s also Danny Saili, Keivie Rose, and Ian Geffrard — who is up to 382 pounds and only 25 percent body fat.
There’s talent, depth, and experience on the DL. That can help in areas like linebacker. The LBs return very little production from last season. With great production up front, Arkansas could give the LBs the break they need.
