4. Dr. Pepper

Wait! Before you dismiss this one, let me explain.

Most people would choose Coca-Cola as the official soft drink of the SEC, and that's a fair choice. But, the real soft drink of the South is Dr. Pepper. Don't believe me? When was the last time you found a Dr. Pepper at a local restaurant north of the Mason-Dixon? Now, what about a Coke? Exactly. While it's headquartered in the westernmost part of Texas that can still be considered "southern," Dr. Pepper is only readily available in the South.

If you can't handle the 23 delicious flavors of the best soda ever made, that's fine. You can choose that battery-dissolving concoction called Coke or its overly sweet cousin, Pepsi. But even fictional southern characters choose the tastiest soda in existence. Remember in "Forrest Gump" when Forrest — one of the most southern characters in cinema history — met JFK? What was his drink of choice? Oh, right, Dr. Pepper.

However, the best reason the SEC and Dr. Pepper would be a match made in heaven is the recent popularity of the soft drink. Dr. Pepper just overtook Pepsi as the second-most-popular brand in the US. That means Dr. Pepper would spend big bucks to capitalize on the momentum.
