2024 Week Three 12-team College Football Playoff rankings prediction
It’s the first time we’ve had any major shake-up in the 2024 college football playoff prediction.
We have a new predicted champion. Texas overtakes Georgia after the Bulldogs struggle against Kentucky. The Wildcats were blown out By South Carolina in the week prior, with one of the worst offensive performances this century. Georgia also struggled in the first half of its game with Clemson. The Tigers are on different level than Kentucky, but still nowhere near where Georgia should be.
Still, the Bulldogs have all the tools to be the SEC champion, but there’s one team that looks more polished even with their backup quarterback.

Texas jumps to a top-4 seed after playing lights out with their backup quarterback, Arch Manning. Quinn Ewers was hurt on Saturday with a strained abdomen when Manning got the nod. Ewers could be healthy enough to take back his position, but with the way Manning played, he might not have a spot to return to.
The Longhorns have yet to face an SEC opponent, though. Sure, they gave Michigan a beating in Ann Arbor, but last year's national champs aren't the team they were last season. Their first real test doesn't come until the Red River Rivalry on October 12.
Another SEC team dropped out of the prediction as well. Boston College outclassed Missouri for most of its game on Saturday. To their credit, the Tigers found a way to win, but it doesn’t give as much confidence going forward, even with as easy of a schedule as they have. Instead, Tennessee takes their with the Vols' seemingly unstoppable offense.
