With college football just around the corner, it's crazy how different this season will look. With legendary coaches like Nick Saben retired from the game and conference realignment, it's almost unrecognizable. Another thing to unpack is the new — and some would say improved — 12-team College Football Playoffs.

This year, the five highest-ranked conference champions will earn a spot in the playoffs, with the top four taking the first four seeds. Seven At-large bids and the final conference champ will fill the last eight seeds according to their CFP rankings.

The postseason will be the most exciting in recent memory. So, with that in mind, here's our take on what this season's CFP will look like:

With it being the SEC and Big 10's world and everybody else is just living in it, the conferences combine for half of the available seeds. Texas will probably be a top-four team, but they would still have to go through Georgia to take the SEC Championship. And really, no one needs Texas to win the SEC in their first season. Their heads would no longer fit in the state.

Ohio State seems to be head and shoulders the favorite in the Big 10, but many think Oregon has a shot of taking the crown. However, James Franklin at Penn State feels like he's due for a good season, so don't count the Nittany Lions out.

Florida State and Clemson should have great seasons and may even shock some people, especially the Tigers. They play against each other early in the season for what could be the ACC championship with the gap in talent of the conference's other members.

Oklahoma State sneaks in after a good season, while the final conference champ, UNLV, takes the Mountain West over Boise State.
